One of the most important marketing goals you can have at the minute is increasing your online visibility. We’re all spending more and more time online, or looking for more convenient ways to accomplish our tasks. Whether that’s ordering the groceries, booking a restaurant, or finding suppliers, we do all of this and more from our computers, phones and tablets. So, what do you need to do to make sure that your business is visible for your customers, and potential customers?

Have A Website

It might seem a little obvious, but the first thing you need to do, if you haven’t already, is build your website. If you do already have a website, you should go through it. Check all the information on the site for accuracy. Check for broken links. Check your business contact details, contact forms, and anything else that encourages prospective clients to contact you. You should also think about the quality of your images, graphics, and content. Higher quality is much more appealing to your users.

Start A Blog

Blogging is one of the most recommended ways to increase your online visibility. Consumers appreciate an informative, engaging, well-written and useful blog. They react especially favourably to blog posts that can solve a problem, or are extremely shareable. Your blog is also a good way for you to show your customers and potential customers that you are an expert in your industry, and that your product or services can help them live better, less stressful lives.

Incentivize

With so many businesses trying to do the same thing as you are, the biosphere can become very crowded. You can stand out from the crowd by offering your audience an incentive. You could offer a free e-book for everyone who signs up for your newsletter. You could offer a free trial version of your product or service. It doesn’t matter what the incentive is, but it does need to be valuable so that your website viewers take action. Incentives can also encourage people to recommend your business, or at the very least to talk about it.

Visuals

Some people believe that visual content marketing will become more important than text-based content marketing, such as blogging. The reality is that both are important. This could mean that you make sure that your blog includes images, infographics and videos. It may also mean that you publish video content on a Youtube channel. Research how your target market reacts to videos, what kind of videos they want to see, and how they access that kind of information, and build your visual marketing plan around that.

Engage With People

Social media platforms, and online forums like Quora and Reddit, are wonderful ways for your business to engage with your consumers. Posting comments, responding to questions, and offering useful information to potential consumers can help build your brand, and grow your online visibility. You could even start an Ask Me Anything chat online, and encourage people to ask whatever questions they may have had, but never been able to find an answer to.

Search Engine Optimizaton (SEO)

Search engine optimization is incredibly important for boosting your online visibility. It means that you have taken steps to ensure that when a search engine ranks your site, that they will rank it well. Search engines look at many different factors when ranking websites, including blog posts, loading speed, mobile responsiveness, and user experience. In the case of blog posts, for example, you’ll need to feature keywords related to the post, but you also need to be sure that the post reads well for an actual person to read. There’s a huge wealth of information available on how to build, design, and edit your site for SEO. It is incredibly effective at boosting your online visibility if it’s done correctly, and you are consistent.
